Exactly four and a half months following the previous coach's initial media briefing as Rangers manager, his replacement Danny Rohl met with the media at Ibrox for the initial occasion.
The magnitude of the challenge facing him is well known, considering his predecessor's chaotic and unsuccessful four-month tenure.
The ex- Wednesday manager was joined by club chairman the chairman, along with the much-criticized pair of sporting director Thelwell and CEO Stewart.
However, what precisely did we learn from the young German's first public appearance as Rangers boss?
Rohl's Main Priority - Victory is Everything
A single message came through clearly from the new coach's initial presentation before the Scottish media - he recognizes the need to win matches, and achieve this rapidly.
His predecessor Russell Martin managed just 17 games and 123 days as manager, so the question arose about what timeframe Rohl thinks is reasonable to turn around the struggling squad.
While skillfully sidestepping a direct answer that might create later expectations, the coach's message was very evident.
"With hope as soon as possible," he said. "That is crucial.
"In this business you have not much opportunity. You can discuss future plans but it's understood it's about immediate results and that period is about winning games. This is what I demand.
"Another aspect remains clear - I require every squad member to understand how we want to play. I return to my main theme: it's winning, entertaining football and unity. If you follow this order, I believe that I'll stay very long at the club."
Pressure is Standard
The previous manager needed security protection to exit the stadium after his last game in charge.
We've witnessed how hostile environments can turn at football clubs when performances decline. Demonstrations have almost become a regular aspect of the matchday experience on both sides of the city currently.
As Rangers' youngest ever head coach, the question asked about which attributes the coach thinks he possesses that would allow him to cope, let alone thrive, in among the highest-pressure positions in UK soccer?
"In my opinion pressure in football are standard," he commented. "You must learn that rapidly.
"I believe certain individuals might mention my age but I have been 16 years in this career. I had an excellent chance to work with Bayern Munich and serve as just the assistant coach, but I felt the reality to be a head coach and the pressure you face.
"You begin winning games and then some critics claim you need to produce entertaining football. That's the next stage but precisely what I want. I relish that challenge and I look forward about what's ahead."
Thelwell Defends Striker Acquisition & Appointing Family Member
There were numerous inquiries from the media for Thelwell.
Much discussion has concerned the appointment of Robbie Thelwell as head of recruitment, with supporters skeptical about his qualifications for the position.
However, he justified and clarified the choice to recruit Thelwell Jnr to the club.
"It's always uncomfortable to hear and optically I believe we all agreed when we made this step to appoint Robbie that he would be viewed negatively," Thelwell stated.
"The reality of the situation is that we want to attract the very best players to this club.
"My perspective on Robbie's career and background is he didn't need family help in football.
"He's worked at Villa as a senior scout, he then joined Norwich as scouting chief and then was elevated to player pathways manager.
"Before we hiring him, two Premier League teams sought to acquire him. Our approach right at the beginning of the process was discuss with the CEO, the chairman and deputy chairman Marathe about this matter.
"I remained highly transparent and I think he likely experienced a more rigorous process than any other who's employed by this football club.
"What I do know is that he will work 25/8 to achieve success for Rangers and I'm looking forward seeing him demonstrating that he's going to be a valuable staff member for the club."
Additionally, Thelwell defended the signing of forward Chermiti, who joined Rangers for an alleged initial fee of £8m, after failing to find the net in 24 appearances for his previous club.
The sporting director who transferred the Portuguese young international to Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon - again for significant money in a fifteen million pound deal.
The question came if he supports his multi-million pound signing, who is yet to register in seven outings for the club.
"Absolutely, very much so," Thelwell answered. "I believe Youssef Chermiti is a player who's possesses great ability.
"I haven't doubted him in any way. Again, I believe Danny will help to maximize the potential out of Youssef.
"It's very initial stages for the young player, he remains young talent and of course with young talents they occasionally take time.
"But I'm certain throughout of his career at the club he'll demonstrate that he's a highly capable player."
Stewart Acknowledges Supporters' Disappointment and Hurt
The chief executive was in the media firing line, considering the criticism that has been aimed his way by some of the club's fans.
There was even a sign in the Sandy Jardine stand during the last tie with United inviting him - and the sporting director - to depart before they were packed for them.
Similar to the sporting director, Stewart didn't evade the issue.
"I totally understand the frustration and hurt that the supporters are feeling because results recently haven't been good enough and no one is satisfied with them," he stated.
"The pain and disappointment they feel is mirrored within the boardroom.
"Recognize that there has to be an outlet for those frustrations and as chief executive, that's me.
"I'm a lightning rod for those and my responsibility as a
